The report of the Third Arab Land Conference is now out!
The Final Report of the Third Arab Land Conference documents the sessions and session recommendations of the Conference, held from 18 to 20 February 2025 in Rabat, Morocco. The Third Arab Land Conference marked a pivotal moment in advancing sound land governance across the Arab region, serving as a strategic forum for the exchange of national experiences, presentation of research findings and dialogue on policy directions intended to guide land-related investments and renew political commitment to land sector reform.
The Conference convened over 430 in-person participants in Rabat and more than 7,000 virtual attendees, reflecting robust regional and international engagement. Delegations included 44 government representatives from 12 Arab countries, alongside policymakers, technical experts, civil society organizations, academia and development partners. The Conference featured a total of 36 sessions, including 3 High-Level Sessions, 6 Technical Sessions, 23 Partner-led sessions, 2 High-Level Roundtables and 2 Assemblies, in addition to the opening and closing sessions.
The Conference Report provides summaries of each of these sessions along with recommendations proposed by the speakers. The sessions are explored within 8 thematic chapters of the Report: Land Management in Conflict and Crisis; Women and Land; Food Security and Climate; Land-based Financing; Land Sector Innovation; Knowledge and Information; Technology-driven Data Collection; and Land for Housing and Development.
