The second edition of the NELGA Forum, themed “Geo-Intelligence: Smart Land Governance for Resilient Territories,” brought together experts and stakeholders to address key land governance challenges. Over the course of three days, the forum featured interactive discussions, technical sessions, and experience-sharing, all aimed at deepening knowledge and promoting collaboration in land management and geospatial science.

As key partners of NELGA, UN-Habitat, and the Global Land Tool Network (GLTN) presented the work of the Arab Land Initiative and announced the forthcoming 3rd Arab Land Conference, which is set to further advance discussions on land governance in the Arab region. Ombretta Tempra highlighted the wide range of work of the Initiative’s partners, providing details on the progress made to advance women’s land rights and foster solutions across the land-climate-conflict nexus. She also described how the Initiative was shaped by the experience of the Working Party on Land Administration (UNECE) and of the Africa Land Policy Centre (UNECA, AU, AfDB).

The forum served as a dynamic platform for exchanging insights and innovative tools, while underscoring the critical role of cross-regional cooperation in addressing land governance issues.
