The Members of the Arab Land Initiative’s Reference Group will meet in Cairo, Egypt, on 29th and 30th of May. The meeting, hosted by the League of Arab States and co-organised by UN-Habitat and UNESCWA, will review the status of land governance in the region; share the highlights of the work done through the Initiative; and consolidate a vision for the way forward by identifying priority areas and strengthening partnerships to enhance regional cooperation and resource mobilisation.

The Reference Group provides strategic guidance to the Arab Land Initiative and contributes to its culture of continuous improvement by offering feedback and suggestions to adapt to changing circumstances and improve the Initiative’s responsiveness to regional communities’ needs. The Reference Group is composed by knowledgeable people composed by a mix of experts, influential figures, and representatives of institutions, organisations and constituencies who share the vision of the Arab Land Initiative. It was established in 2016 and has been meeting yearly since then to review and guide the work of the Initiative.
