Arab Land Initiative is pleased to share our new country page and Land Sector Snapshot for Kuwait. Both contain an overview of Kuwait’s land sector, including the legal and institutional framework, information on land tenure, value, use and development, as well as on land dispute resolution and women’s land rights. The webpage also contains a curated selection of other informative land-related publications.

Kuwait is primarily an urbanized country, though most of its land – nearly 75 per cent – is primarily designated for grazing and recreational activities, including spring camping and hunting. The county is administered by the central government, and both freehold and leasehold land tenure types are recognized by the law. Over the past several years, Kuwait has made substantial progress in improving its land administration systems to be more efficient in terms of procedures, time and cost necessary to register a property.
