The Arab Mayors Academy was excited to present the latest session in its ongoing webinar series, "Building Resilient Local Economies and Sustainable Land Management for Productive Urban Futures." The event, designed for city leaders, mayors, governors, municipal staff, and urban planning professionals, took place on September 18, 2024.
The future of cities depends on strong local economies and sustainable land management. This webinar, organized by UN-Habitat and UNESCWA with the support of the Arab Land Initiative, explored strategies to foster local businesses, manage land resources, and create vibrant urban spaces capable of adapting to future challenges. Attendees learned how cities can balance economic growth with environmental sustainability and resilience.
The Key Presenters were:
Dr. Moha El Ayachi, Professor at the IAV Hassan II University, Rabat, Morocco, specialist in geomatic sciences and land governance, and coordinator of the NELGA North Africa Node. He will focus on land governance and policy, geospatial technologies, and land use, highlighting practical applications of academic insights in land governance.
Dr. Walid expert in economics, will focus his intervention on environmental and resource economics, and he will present strategies for building resilient local economies
