The Legislative and Institutional Framework for War-affected Land Rights in Iraq: Up to the Task Post-ISIS?
The Paper explains the current land and property conflict situation in Iraq through three aspects: First, the abuse of the HLP rights, certain laws and land reforms. Second, the changing laws and sequence of legal sources that combine tribal, Islamic, customary and statutory. Third, the different ideologies of government that have produced different laws for different purposes greatly affects the current governance of land and property.
