Land and tenure security in Libya
This brief reflects the collaboration between the Arab Land Initiative and one of its partners, the ISTIDAMA Center for Land and Enlivenment Governance. It aims to enhance knowledge production and sharing about land and tenure security in Arab states. The paper focuses on land administration system in Libya, covering its historical development, various land functions, and the challenges currently facing the land system. It examines legal challenges, and the challenges face women land rights, the impact of conflict on land management, and issues related to informal settlements and urbanization in Libya following the conflict.
